When death comes knocking …

During my summer in Mexico, I made my way through Sister Marie Paul Curley’s book Soul of Christ. I am taking this Saturday morning to share the little pearls I have learned from this book.

In the hour of my death: Time is a gift from God. It is given to us to help grasp his eternal love for us. As we sit here this Saturday morning, have we lived lives with a Eucharistic mindset — have we lived in gratitude for what God has done for us?

call me and bid me come to you: When we live our lives focused on God, we will hear his gentle voice call us to himself. Are our lives ready and attentive to that momentous moment? Death is a beautiful thing for it is that moment we see God as he is.
