Listening – Day 42

MTI2NTgyMzIxOTcyMjU5NDU5This week, we enjoy listening to one of the great giants in music: Ludwig van Beethoven. Around 1800-1802, Beethoven experienced devastating internal turmoil in trying to come to terms with his hearing loss. To the outside world, his life seemed to be ideal, with his success as a performing pianist and a sought out composer of Vienna. He was a lonely man and as his external hearing grew into deafness, his inner hearing flourished and this masterpiece marked his later work which speaks of his soul’s journey from despair to triumph.
