Saturday morning with “Anima Christi”

While enjoying my time in Mexico, I read through Soul of Christ. It’s a gem of a book by Marie Paul Curley, a Daughter of Saint Paul. I continue on this little series, sharing the little pearls I have learned from this book.

Body of ChristThere are times where I am overwhelmed when meditating on the fact that GOD BECAME A HUMAN. Jesus takes our limitations, experiences our disappointments, shares in our joy. What other God can make such a claim?

Save me: For Catholics, to be saved by God is more than a one time event. Rather, it’s a constant conversion to Jesus who became one like us in all things except sin. We all need to be saved from greed, gluttony, and lust … to name a few. Being saved for heaven is the daily choice to let God love us and love through us.

As we enjoy our morning cup of coffee, consider …. who belongs to the body of Christ? Do we recognize our enemies, our family members, and those in our community to belong to his body —the body that is wounded and glorified.
