Mexico brought so many beautiful experiences and provided a wonderful environment for prayer. While enjoying my time in Mexico, I read through Soul of Christ. It’s a gem of a book by Marie Paul Curley, a Daughter of Saint Paul. I continue on this little series, sharing the little pearls I have learned from this book.

Sanctify meLet’s face it. In the 21st century, the call to be holy might be a tall order or even out of fashion. Sister Marie calls us to pay attention to the intimate command our Lord gave to his disciples at the Last Supper. He invited them to abide with him. When we focus on abiding with Jesus, we allow him to draw us out of ourselves into his life —- which is a life filled with abundance, joy, and peace. These are things which we all long for today, especially in the midst of the violence our communities face.

As we enjoy our morning cup of coffee, consider who Jesus is to you. Are we connected to him or are we grafted into his life?
