More than just a rectory …

The seminarians joined the priests of the Diocese of Sacramento as they underwent their yearly Priest Study Days at Christ the King Retreat Center in Citrus Heights on April 11-15. The retreat was conducted by Bishop Gordon Bennett, SJ.

The bishop shared insights into the mercy of God, into the face of God being mercy itself. Using the papal motto of Pope Francis, the bishop explained how God’s mercy towards us moves us into mission, moves us to tell the world of the graciousness of God who is revealed in Jesus as healer, teacher, and consoler.

IMG_2010 It was also a refreshing time for fraternity, celebration, and brotherhood. Each day we celebrated the Eucharist, prayed together, and rediscovered the face of God: mercy.

Nice hearing from you JR. I made a retreat at Christ the King when I was a senior at St Mary’s College. Wonderful retreat center. Hope you are well and happy in the seminary for the Diocese of Sacramento. My prayers are for you in your vocation. God Bless,
