A prayer for unity

Much is going on in ecclesial culture these days, especially with attention to our brothers and sisters in the Anglican & Episcopal communion. I do not need to reiterate the story. You can click here for full coverage of recent developments.

Justin Welby Archbishop of Canterbury

I can only begin to imagine the pain going through the hearts of many during this time, tracing their beginning from Henry VIII to her Highness Queen Elizabeth II who holds the reigns today in a communion filled with ritual, ceremony, and poetry.

I will not try to offer a critique but rather a prayer for Christian Unity throughout the world. A prayer that we all strive for the Truth where it is found.

Lord Jesus Christ, at your Last Supper you prayed to the Father that all should be one. Send your Holy Spirit upon all who bear your name and seek to serve you. Strengthen our faith in you, and lead us to love one another in humility. May we who have been reborn in one baptism be united in one faith under one Shepherd. Amen.
