Therese of Lisieux! A woman worth getting to know …

Therese_von_Lisieux 2

One memory ingrained in my heart is the beautiful statue I often visited in San Francisco as a young teenager at Saint Patrick’s Church in the heart of downtown. There, Therese stood holding a crucifix and bouquet of flowers, smiling at me.

On this feast of snow, eclairs, and flowers, we celebrate her final surrender, as your heart cried out, “My God, I love you” which birth her new life in eternity. She was known for her little way and for her child-like faith. May we turn to Therese who will teach us to trust Jesus with great confidence and ask her to bring out of us that child who longs to sit on God’s lap to find comfort and security.
