Where is heaven?

It was an unforgettable summer in 2012! That was the summer, I earned a scholarship to study in Rome and before Rome, I spent a week in that little village in France. Not consumed with vendors, gift shops, and merchandise. Rather, it was a simple little village that felt like heaven with only one person to really know: the Cure! It was said that upon his arrival to Ars, John Vianney told the shepherd boy, “You have shown me the way to Ars. I will show you the way to heaven.”

Catching a photo with the Cure of Ars! Incorruptible saint!

Though he may not have been the greatest seminarian scholar, his openness to the Holy Spirit and his deep love to God moved so many souls to return to the merciful God through the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

We will not all be called to the ministerial priesthood of Jesus Christ. Yet, we are all called to share in the baptismal priesthood which calls us to live a life of joy in holiness. Today, as we celebrate this great saint in the Church, pray for all priests and seminarians and live a life that is contagiously holy. Live a life that will draw people to Jesus by being a merciful and compassionate disciple.
