Where “dreams” come true

Today’s adventure focused on that which is very important to the Filipino: relationships! Bishop Mylo Vergara gave us a warm welcome to his beautiful diocese of Pasig. He is such a joy to be with and truly animates the joy of Christ. We were so captivated and fascinated by the rich history of his diocese.

As we made our way to his home I noticed the popular statue of the sleeping Saint Joseph & expressed my desire to bring one home with me as a personal devotion.
He happily and readily called the supplier located in his diocese and after a delightful lunch we went on our way to take home the dreamer who thinks of us in his sleep: Saint Joesph!

It is providential that Bishop made such a little gift and little request possible as I am currently stationed at Saint Joseph Parish back home. So as I will soon return to my work and ministry, I bring this patron with me, with deep gratitude to Bishop Vergara & the kindness of the Rusit family!! The pope places his writen prayers underneath the sleeping Joseph and I hope to do the same in the years to come.

And of course, we shifted gears to meet with friends from back home over some local coffee! It was a true joy to be with the Cepeda family and share the adventures thus far… Though rain struck hard nearing the end of the day, we were filled with joy knowing that in God’s perfect way… Dreams do come true!
