A little Pope Francis in the morning

I am working my way through my second cup of coffee, doing a little spiritual reading. I haven’t purchased my hard copy of Laudato Si and hope to do so later today. Reading a hard copy is more fun than the electronic copy. One can enjoy highlighting and underling. So for now, I decided to continue my read through Evangelii Gaudium. A little line in the section on preaching, eloquently reminded me of God’s patience:

He always invites us to take a step forward, but does not demand a full response if we are not ready. He simply asks that we sincerely look at our life and present ourselves honestly before him, and that we be willing to continue to grow, asking from him what we ourselves cannot as yet achieve” (Evangelii Gaudium 153).
