Different than all other years

10155016_10204287381572039_3550387716822928764_nIt has been a pure delight and pleasure to walk these beautiful souls for the past 33 days. Tonight, we complete our journey to Consecration as we celebrate Solemn Vespers tonight at Holy Spirit Parish in Fairfield.

Today, the Church celebrates the Patronal Feast Day of the United States, the Immaculate Conception. Pope Bl. Pius IX solemnly defined that Mary was conceived free from the stain of Original Sin. In other words, the Tabernacle of the Lord’s coming has been prepared in the womb of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the world’s first love —- God keeps his promise by sending us a Savior through the consent of a teenage girl.

Today, as we go about our daily work, let’s make our lives a monstrance for the Lord Jesus. Let our lives radiate the very presence of the Lord Jesus to every person we meet today. And today, let us ask Mary to lend us her heart, so that we may love and serve him in the manner she has demonstrated.
