“that they may be one”

It’s a historical moment in the history of Christendom! Here is a priceless picture of His Holiness Pope Francis & Ecumenical Patriarch His Holiness Bartholomaios reverencing the empty tomb of the Risen Christ.

The successors of Peter & Andrew meet in that one common place where the whole faith springs: the empty tomb of Christ. During the Easter Season, this is our program to announce Christ risen from the dead —- this is the source of every joy, of life itself!

His Holiness could not have said it better in his address at this holy place, “Every time we ask forgiveness of one another for our sins against other Christians and every time we find the courage to grant and receive such forgiveness, we experience the resurrection! Every time we put behind us our longstanding prejudices and find the courage to build new fraternal relationships, we confess that Christ is truly risen! Every time we reflect on the future of the Church in the light of her vocation to unity, the dawn of Easter breaks forth!”

Let us continue to pray for the full communion of the whole Church!
