Over some coffee: Just like you, Mary

When I wonder if I did the right thing, when I wonder if my life is in the right direction, I turn to her. I turn to Mary.

The teenager from Nazareth who may not have known the completely will of God, but was willing to follow, to be obedient, to give her undivided heart to the will of the Father.

We now come to the season of Graduations and Ordinations. Here’s a picture of a great group of gentlemen from Saint Patrick’s Seminary & University the “tour” of ordinations soon begin with the first ordination tonight. My best wishes to them as they respond whole heartedly to the will of the Father.

Life throws us many curve balls and in moments like that we are called to trust. We are invited to look to Mary and the saints of every age and to be inspired by the way they said YES to the will of the Father. We may not all be called to Holy Orders or consecrated life, or married life. But we are all called to walk closely with Jesus the Christ. To know him in the scriptures and in the Breaking of the Bread.
