I can’t help but remember

We are now in the inexhaustible joy of Paschal time, celebrating Christ’s victory over sin & death! During these days, I cannot help but remember my Galilee! (For further explanation on this concept, click here to read Pope Francis’ Easter Vigil homily.)  Looking back at Holy Thursday, when we brought Jesus to the Altar of Repose, to be with him for a moment, helped me remember. To see my Godson pray before him, helped me remember.

Pope Francis is on point! It’s not a nostalgia. To go to Galilee is to return to our first love and to that moment when we received that flame ignited us for the preaching of the Gospel and of the Resurrection of Christ. To find Galilee is not like the search for Easter eggs in which we try to find something outside of ourselves. It is the journey within, a journey to the heart! Galilee is that place where we know him by his name and he calls us by OUR NAME!

This is Eastertide! Let us be on our way, to Galilee, to encounter our first love! That journey is the search within! Christ has Risen from the dead!
