Oh when they come marching in

Growing up I remember singing Oh When the Saints Go Marching In hoping we would all get in line to meet God as saintly people.

We hear of this great procession in the Liturgy today as the elder in the Book of Revelation asked, “Who are these wearing white robes, and where did they come from?” (Revelations 2:13). When you walk into our chapel and turn around, this image of Christ gathering the people to himself strikes the heart! Every day when I look at this image of Christ I pray that I’ll be able to join in their company one day in heaven and be counted among them.

Today, we venerate in one celebration all the saints known and unknown to us. They are members of the Mystical Body of Christ and they all help us to grow in holiness. Less we fall asleep in our worship!

As we celebrate the lives and holiness of all those in heaven, let’s be aware of those saints in our midst who always point us back to Jesus, who say YES to God’s will. Happy Feast to all the saints!
