Grandmothers tend to be so tender and kind towards their grandchildren. They always want to give them many gifts and show an immense amount of love. They also bring the story of their own lives from a whole different time and place. They hand on the sacred formulas, also known as prayers, and the holy customs which are handed down in our families and in the manner in which we worship.

Saint Anne, grandmother of Jesus, does not fall short of this description. On her feast day, we remember that she points us to the Word spoken from all eternity. She wants us to be part of this universal family under the headship of Christ.

Today, we turn to her to seek her prayers. We pray for those who are sick and whose lives are disturbed. May she point us to the source of true joy and peace: Jesus Christ.

One Response to Grandmothers

  1. I collected several St. Ann, Mary Jesus icons and paintings but i will have to “borrow” this one because it is the most inspired, uplifting one of them all with the Holy Spirit as a central figure.

Taking a collection for your thoughts!
