The sheep know his voice

From the catacombs in Rome this past summer. It’s one of the oldest images we have of Christ depicted as the Good Shepherd. Today’s gospel remains short and to the point! The sheep know the Shepherd’s voice and we follow. When we cling to Jesus Christ and bet our lives on him, he will never lead us astray from his reach. He will always lead us to verdant pastures where we find rest. He will lead us to the lush green hills where we are fed. We will never long for anything. On this Good Shepherd Sunday, may Christ be fashioned as the only desire of your heart.
