Where it all started

lrg_Prints_Annunciation

I stumbled across this work in the morning and found it fascinating. It’s a very modern approach to a timeless Truth of our faith. The artist explains his work in the video below.

The first Eve was made in love. The New Eve, in Mary, was made for Love. She is everything God’s people longed to be and she had the complete freedom to welcome the Word into her life. How about us? Do we pray the words of today’s psalm, “Here I am Lord. I’ve come to do your will.” We must long to be like Mary and be fully receptive to God’s will. In the receptivity we are able to live a life of joy as it is oriented to Jesus Christ.

We are in the midst of Paschal Joy and today we celebrate where it all began. All the angels watched and waited to hear the YES of this one teenage Virgin.
