It was the first question I asked Helen prior to moving in yesterday. She chuckeled. There wasn’t an abudance of toilet paper in the room, but Helen left a king size piece of chocolate waiting on my pillow as I pulled up to San Raphael Parish and Mission yesterday morning. Francisco helped me move in and showed the ropes on how to open the Church. He even taught me how to open the main doors!
God is so good. After I thought I was settling in, my aunt requested for me to return to Vallejo to lead a prayer service for her sister-in-law who died suddenly. After being with family in Vallejo for a short few hours, I found myself back in my new neighborhood with my college neighbors down the street, helped move in a couch, enjoyed a little dinner, and slowly closed the evening in my new community. My sentiments on yesterday’s feast are found in the Antiphon of Zechariah’s Canticle, “You inspire us, O Lord, to delight in praising you, because you made us for yourself; our hearts are restless until they rest in you.”
The heck with toilet paper, where is Starbucks? You can always use theirs!
