New Beginning

Yesterday morning, I crossed the most popular icon of San Francisco, the Golden Gate Bridge, and drove through the heavy fog that saturated Highway 101 to my parish assignment at the Church of Saint Raphael & Mission San Rafael Archangel. Right at noon, I found myself in the beautiful summer weather of Marin County as the parish priest welcomed me to his rectory and introduced me to a few members of the pastoral staff. He then showed me to my room and a brief tour through the property.

The parish school is undergoing serious renovation and juggling of classes which will all be set to go by its opening at the end of August. There was a great sense of hospitality from both the parish priest and the school principle and I look forward to learning from them and the people of God at this new beginning in my journey to the priesthood.
