It has been more than a decade!!

“How can I repay the LORD for all the great good done for me? I will raise the cup of salvation and call on the name of the LORD.”~ Psalm 116:12-13

One of my fondest memories as a young teenager was being part of SPYCO at Saint Patrick’s Parish in downtown San Francisco. One Sister who was always a delight to see was Sister Gloria as she was in charge of the youth along with Father Ray. And look! Over more than ten years later, I crossed paths again with this Religious of the Virgin Mary in ROME!

Seeing her again, sharing lunch together, was like stepping back into my childhood and reliving all the good memories in that downtown parish. She was delighted and surprised that I took on this journey to discern my vocation to the priesthood. Seeing her as a joyful Sister in the Lord was refreshing for my own vocation. Praise God for his abundance in graces, joys, and love.

Dear JR, you bring back memories of my Uncle Pete. No matter where we went (in Pennsylvania) someone knew him. As a kid I was in awe. 10 deacons ordained at the Cathedral yesterday. Went to Fr Jose Compose’s Mass of Thanksgiving last night and Fr Justus Alaeto’s Mass today. There were about 15 Nigerian priests there from Nigeria, Rome, Maryland, NY, Texas, and a few more places. They all sang after Mass in Ibo. It was wonderful. Blessings, Gmama
