Your first and last love

I came across this on tumblr this morning and could not help but make a reply. We learn through Christ, that the Father has loved us first. We are the Father’s first love in all of creation, in all the visible and invisible world. We have gone through this life allowing our own hearts to be captivated by other things which have not fulfilled us. In the Father’s perfect timing his Word became flesh in Christ Jesus to prove His love and that He has permanently and eternally made a covenant with us by which we are all bound. Through Christ the Father has demonstrated his total and final love!

It’s a bold statement, but no one has truly loved until they have gazed at the Crucified One and transformed at the empty tomb. I can bet my life on it because Christ my Lord is risen from the dead and dies no more. For us to be God’s first and final love is not only beyond perfect, it is perfection, completeness itself. It’s eternity’s final destination – to abide in God.
