Passionate Love

Passionate love, as the world defines it, is what you are able to do for the other. Sometimes its measured by how many gifts you can give the one you are courting or what you can do to catch the attention of the one whom you show interest. It’s between two people.

This is not the case with the passionate love we witness the next three days. The Passion we tap into, the passion we experience and encounter is Christ himself – it begins at sunset tonight, popularly known as the most romantic night of the year. For our Lord will call us to a dinner in his honor and do something contradictory to the world. He will not purchase us the finest dinner, but give us his very self. He will not put on the best attire. Rather, he will lower himself as a servant.

Tonight, our Lord gives us the gift of the Priesthood and the Eucharist. We celebrate our priests who have given their lives to be a Father to us. Today, we celebrate the very gift of the Eucharist that sustains us for our journey back home to God.

WATCH! Do not miss the point of passionate love.
