All the green is a reminder that he’s watching out for me

Statue of Saint Patrick located on the Hill of Tara.

When my grandmother came to the United States with my dad and her kids, the pastor of Saint Patrick Parish took her in, got her an apartment, a job, and her first piano. At this parish, my parents celebrated their marriage and brought me to the waters of baptism to be claimed for God.

I laugh now and realize that my current seminary is also named after this popular saint to the people of Ireland. He must be watching out for me! Tomorrow we celebrate the feast of Patrick a few days early. Wishing you all a blessed feast of this shepherd and bishop: Saint Patrick.
