That time of the year again

Nine days before Christmas Day and lanterns are hung in the front of our homes, the air is a little colder, and people will fill the streets in their respective neighborhoods as they process to their churches in the darkness of morning and/or evening.

It is popularly known as Simbang Gabi a novena of Masses which intensify our preparation during Advent for the coming of Christ. We actively and joyfully await the LORD’s coming into our hearts once more at Christmas. May these Masses find us in prayer, may the liturgies find us working towards the building up of God’s kingdom and not giving into the consumerism of the secular world. God’s greatest gift to creation is found here in the lowliness of a stable. Come Emmanuel.
