I am simply at a lost for words this morning. Raymond is someone who came into my life when I stepped foot onto Mount Angel Seminary in 2006. When I jog my memory, I am humorously reminded that we had Introduction to Scriptures and Survey of the Catholic Faith. Later years, we took Greek together. He was the seminarian I sat next to in class, but more importantly, he continues to be a great friend.
Friends are those who encourage you and guide you through life and call you out when you need fraternal correction. Raymond has never fallen short in such a description. Later this afternoon, I will journey back to Mount Angel Seminary to be with him, his family, and the seminary community it witnessing his ordination to the Diaconate. Many advance congratulations to you Raymond!
“O Eternal Word, Word of my God, I want to spend my life in listening to You, to become wholly teachable that I may learn all from You. Then, through all nights, all voids, all helplessness, I want to gaze on You always and remain in Your great light. O my beloved Star, so fascinate me that I may not withdraw from Your radiance.” ~Blessed Elizabeth of the Trinity
