A brief look back into World Youth Day

There are many things that can be said about one’s experience at World Youth Day. Allow me to share the following:

It’s amazing who you can meet at a train station in Spain. As we waited to catch the connection to Avila, Michael and I met Sister Mary Emmanuel from the Servantes de la Presence de Dieu Community. Her words of wisdom stuck with me. She said that we must befriend people because people are looking for very deep relationships and what better friend to have than Jesus. Jesus first then ministry! We must spend time with the Lord in deep prayer, so that we may be effective in our work as future priests.

Very simple words of wisdom that struck my heart that afternoon as we awaited our train to meet the great Spanish saint!

“Friendship with Jesus will also lead you to bear witness to the faith wherever you are, even when it meets with rejection or indifference. We cannot encounter Christ and not want to make him known to others. So do not keep Christ to yourselves!
