God is with us

The Word of God becomes one like us! All of heaven watches! The universe begins a new course as its creator enters into time.

“The infinite becomes an infant.” There is not much that can be said only much to be experience as we are at the threshold of Christmas. He is God with us.

What will our response be to such an overwhelming love? Will we find him in our families and friends? Will we find him in the poorest people on the streets of our city? Will we find him in those who are the most difficult to love? Wake from our sleep so we do not miss his coming.

O Emmanuel, king and lawgiver, desire of the nations, Savior of all people, come and set us free, Lord our God. O Antiphon for December 23
